I’ve mentioned the Italian attention to detail quite a lot. Things like amazingly decorated windows in shops; cappuccinos served with heart or flower patterns dusting the top of the froth; bejewelled sandals; and stunningly crafted leather handbags.

But I must say I’ve seen a few occasions when the Italians slip up. Usually, it involves a menu. I love nothing better than spotting spelling or grammatical mistakes on menus. Take a moment to look at the photo below (click to enlarge) – see anything that’s not quite right?

If you know your James Joyce, you would know that the Irish novelist and poet wrote (in Ulysses): “God made food; the devil the cooks.”

Seems in Italy, God had nothing to do with it. Good made food instead 🙂
