I flew with a business colleague to Dunedin a couple of weeks ago. When we were picking up her car at Christchurch airport, she gave me her car keys to hold whilst she paid for the parking using the auto-payment machine. It was a silver keyring depicting a horse and I mentioned to her that it was lovely.

Next thing I know, it arrived in the post. She felt that the keyring was wasted on her since she isn’t into horses. It came with a quirky postcard, which is so like her because she’s a designer.

Gracious gesture and certainly every time I use the keyring, I’ll think of my Kiwi friend.

Note to me reads: Happiness is a horse keyring.

Postcard caption reads: “We keep buying things thinking ‘that’ll look better’ and it just doesn’t”.
